Versions and CURRENT

This guide is for anyone who uploads or reviews mixes. In VYNLT every upload to a song becomes a new version, such as Mix 12 or Master 01. Nothing is overwritten. One version is CURRENT: the one people hear first.

Upload a new version

1. Open the song and choose the Versions tab.
2. Pick Mix, Master or Demo in Upload as.
3. Choose Upload mix (or Upload master, Upload demo) and pick the file.
4. The new version becomes CURRENT. If people asked for changes on parts of the song, VYNLT asks which requests this version takes care of. Tick them and the people who asked are told.

Change which version is CURRENT

VYNLT decides what is current from the version history, never from file names. To pick a different one:

1. In the Versions tab, open the version's options (⋯).
2. Choose Set as current.
3. If live share links play this song's current version, choose what they should play: Update the links (recipients hear the new one) or Keep the links on the previous version. Then choose Set as current.

Other things you can do with a version

Open a version's options (⋯) for:

• Rename / notes: a title and notes on what changed.
• Share this version: a link that always plays this exact version.
• Download original: the file exactly as uploaded, if your role allows downloads.
• Compare with current: an A/B against the current version.
• Move to song…, Duplicate, Move to Trash….
• Mark as Official Master… for the final master (see Master Vault).

What you'll see

• The song header shows stamps such as CURRENT · MIX 12 and APPROVED · MIX 11.
• Show archived brings back versions you archived.
• Identical files are caught: uploading the same file twice is refused unless you insist.

Common problems

• Recipients still hear the old mix. Their link was kept on the previous version. Open Share on the song and choose Use current on that link.
• I can't select a version to compare. It is still processing. Wait until it plays.
• I uploaded to the wrong song. Use Move to song… in the version's options.
