This guide is for organization admins and team members who live in chat. Integrations are set up per organization: open Settings → Organizations, choose the organization and open Integrations.
VYNLT for Slack
- An owner or admin chooses Add to Slack under Slack and approves it in Slack.
- Each person links their own account: in Slack, run
/vynlt link, choose Connect, sign in and confirm. - To follow a project in a channel, invite the bot with
/invite @VYNLT, then choose Connect a channel here (or run/vynlt connectin Slack) and pick what to follow.
Audio never goes into Slack. Everything you do there runs as your own VYNLT account, with your permissions. The VYNLT for Slack support page lists every command.
Microsoft Teams, Discord or a Slack webhook
- Under Channel notifications, choose Add connection.
- Pick the Provider (Slack, Microsoft Teams or Discord), paste the channel's incoming webhook URL and give it a Name.
- Choose what it covers (The whole organization, One workspace or One project) and which Events to post.
- Save it, then choose Send test message.
A webhook only posts updates to one channel. Nobody can approve or reply from it.
API tokens and webhooks
For developers connecting other tools:
- API tokens: choose New token, copy it once, and Revoke it when it's no longer needed.
- Webhooks: choose Add endpoint, enter the URL and the events to send, then Test it.
Common problems
- "Slack isn't set up on this server yet." Slack isn't available for your organization at the moment.
- Nothing posts in the channel. Invite the bot to the channel (
/invite @VYNLT), and check the channel follows the project. - "Not linked. In Slack, run /vynlt link". Link your own account so your replies and approvals count as you.
