Notifications, email digests and your calendar
Choose what you're told about and how, get one daily or weekly email instead of many, set quiet hours, reply to comments by email and add release dates to your calendar.
Available on Listener · Artist · Producer · Studio · Label
This guide is for everyone. VYNLT tells you about mentions, new versions, approvals, comments and backup problems in the app and by email.
See your notifications
Open Notifications. The newest are at the top, marked Critical or Important where it matters. Choose Mark all read to clear the count.
Choose what you hear about
- Open Settings → Notifications.
- In the table, tick In app and Email for each kind of notification: uploads, new versions, comments, mentions, replies, approvals and more. If your organization uses Slack, there's a Slack column too.
- Each tick is saved straight away. Security alerts always appear in the app.
Push notifications are not available yet. In-app and email notifications work today.
Fewer emails
Under Email digest, choose Each email as it happens, A daily digest or A weekly digest, then Save schedule. Security alerts are still emailed straight away.
Turn on Quiet hours (Do not disturb) with a From and Until time and your Time zone. Approval reminders lets you choose Email me approval reminders.
Listening alerts
If you share music, Listening alerts can tell you when someone listens for the first time or reaches a milestone. Tick Alert me straight away about first listens and milestones.
Reply by email
Some comment, reply and mention emails start with a line saying you can reply above it. Reply to that email and your answer is posted in the thread as you. Organizations that require two-factor or single sign-on don't get this option.
Add dates to your calendar
- Open Settings → Calendar feed.
- Under Kinds of events, choose what to include: Release dates, Campaign milestones, Your task due dates, Approval deadlines and Scheduled Focus Sessions.
- Choose Make my calendar URL and copy it straight away. It won't be shown again.
- Add it to Google Calendar or Apple Calendar (or Outlook) as a subscribed calendar.
Anyone with the URL can read those dates and titles, so don't share it. If it gets out, choose New URL: the old one stops working. Turn off removes the feed.
Common problems
- Too many emails. Switch to a daily or weekly digest, or untick Email for the kinds you don't need.
- No emails at all. Check spam, and that your email address is verified in Settings → Profile & preferences.
- The calendar doesn't update. Calendar apps refresh on their own schedule: Google every few hours, Apple and Outlook as often as you set.
