Find your way around: views, the menu and search
How the sidebar, the phone menu, views, the command palette, search, Today and the status board help you get to the right song quickly.

This guide is for everyone. VYNLT shows the same music to everyone who can see it, but the screens you see first depend on your view.
Views
A view changes what the app puts first. It never changes what you are allowed to do.
- Artist: your songs and projects. Listen, comment, share and approve, nothing technical in the way.
- Producer: Artist plus collections, desktop sync and version detail, A/B, stems and files.
- Studio: clients, approvals waiting, sessions and team activity.
- Label: the label dashboard, roster, catalogue and campaigns.
- Listener: music shared with you, invitations, playlists and favourites.
To switch, open Settings → Profile & preferences and choose under View. If you have more than one view, you can also use the view switch in the sidebar.
Getting around
- On a computer, the sidebar on the left lists everything your view uses, grouped into Start, Music, Work and More.
- On a phone, the tab bar at the bottom has Home, your library, Record or Search, your Inbox and Menu. Menu has everything else. Type into Find a feature to filter it.
- Press ⌘K on a Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows to open the command palette. Type a page or a song name and press Enter.
Search
- Open Search.
- Type a word. VYNLT searches titles, lyrics, timestamped comments, credits and file names, across everything you can see.
- Narrow it down with the filters, such as status, artist, key, BPM, tag or whether a song is backed up. Clear filters starts again.
Home, Today and the status board
- Home shows Continue listening, Pinned projects, Recently added and My projects. To pin a project, open one of its songs, choose More (⋯) and then Pin project to home.
- Today lists approvals, posts, shoots and deadlines from your campaigns, for today and this week.
- Status board shows every song in columns by stage, from idea to released.
- Inbox collects versions waiting for your decision, your tasks and what you are waiting on.
Common problems
- A page I used yesterday has gone from the sidebar. You may be in a different view. Switch views, or use the command palette to jump straight there.
- Search doesn't find a song. Search only covers music you have access to. Ask the project's manager to invite you.
