Get started: request access, accept an invite and sign in

This guide is for anyone new to VYNLT: artists, producers, studios and labels setting up an account, and people who have been sent music or an invitation.

There are two kinds of account. A free Listener account lets you hear music shared with you, join sessions you are invited to, accept invitations and keep playlists and favourites. Creator accounts (Artist, Producer, Studio and Label) let you upload and manage your own music. Creator accounts are invite-only for now.

Ask for a creator account

1. Go to Request access on our website.
2. Choose the account that fits you (Artist, Producer, Studio or Label) and fill in the form.
3. We email you when your account is ready. The email has a link with your creator invite code.

Create your account

1. Open the link in your invite email, or the link someone sent you. Or go to VYNLT and choose Create account.
2. Enter your Name, Email and a Password of at least 10 characters. A passphrase works well.
3. If you have a creator invite code and it isn't filled in already, choose I have a creator invite code and paste it into Creator invite code. Leave it empty for a free listener account.
4. Choose Continue.
5. Check your email for a 6-digit code. Type it in and choose Create account. The code expires after 10 minutes.

Already have a free account and now have a creator invite code? Open Settings → Account & plan, paste the code under Creator invite code and choose Redeem.

Accept an invitation

Someone can invite you to a project, a workspace or a whole organization.

1. Open the link in the invitation email. Sign in, or create a free account, with the same email address the invitation was sent to.
2. Check the Access offered box. It shows the role you will have and what it lets you do.
3. Choose Accept invitation. Choose Not now to decide later.

You can also see every invitation waiting for you under Invitations (in the menu on a Listener account), and accept from there.

Sign in

1. Go to VYNLT and enter your Email and Password, then choose Sign in.
2. If you have two-factor turned on, enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app, or choose Use passkey or security key.
3. If you set up a passkey, you can choose Sign in with a passkey instead of typing a password.

Forgot your password? Choose Forgot password?, enter your email and choose Send reset link. Choosing a new password signs out every device, and two-factor stays on.

What you'll see

• A free Listener account opens on Shared with me: music people have sent you.
• A creator account opens on Home. A Get started checklist suggests first steps, such as turning on two-factor and uploading your first song. Choose Hide checklist when you are done with it.

Common problems

• "This invitation is invalid, has expired or was revoked." Ask the sender to invite you again.
• The invitation won't accept. Invitations only work for the email address they were sent to. Sign out and sign in with that address, or ask the sender to invite the address you use.
• "Verify your email to accept invitations." Choose Send verification code, then type the code from your email and choose Verify.
• No code arrived. Check your spam folder. If you already have an account with that email, we send a note instead of a code: choose Sign in.
• "Continue with a free account" appears after the code. Your creator invite code can't be used any more. You can carry on with a free account and redeem a new code later in Settings → Account & plan.
