VYNLT for Slack: support
Last updated 30 Sept 2026
Approve, reply and follow projects from Slack. Everything runs as your own VYNLT account, with your permissions. Audio stays in VYNLT.
Add it to your workspace
An organization owner or admin opens VYNLT → Settings → Integrations → Slack and chooses Add to Slack. On Enterprise Grid, a Grid admin can install it for the whole Grid organization.
Link your account
In Slack, run /vynlt link, choose Connect, sign in to VYNLT and confirm. Until you link, VYNLT shows you only a prompt to connect, and nothing you post in Slack is added to VYNLT.
Commands
/vynlt search <text>- Projects and songs you can see.
/vynlt status <song>- Status, current version and approvals.
/vynlt my approvals- What is waiting for your decision.
/vynlt my tasks- Your open tasks.
/vynlt focus <session> results- A Focus Session’s results summary.
/vynlt share <song>- Make a listening link (only you see it).
/vynlt connect- Follow a project in this channel. Also disconnect, mute and unmute.
/vynlt link- Connect your VYNLT account.
Results are only visible to you unless you choose Post to channel.
Channels and threads
Project managers can connect a channel to a project or a release (/vynlt connect, after inviting the bot). Each song gets its own thread: new versions, comments, approvals, Focus submissions and release-date reminders. Replies in a thread are added to VYNLT as comments by the person who wrote them, if they have linked their account. Mute or disconnect at any time.
What you will never see in Slack
- Audio files or playable links. Open in VYNLT is always the way to listen.
- Titles, artwork or names from classified or locked-down projects.
- Song details in channels shared with other organizations (Slack Connect). Links there show a plain “VYNLT link”.
- Anything you can’t see in VYNLT yourself.
Why an approval opens VYNLT instead
When your organization requires two-factor or single sign-on, when the version is an Official Master or the song’s master is locked, or when the project is classified or locked down, approving needs a signed-in session. The button says Open in VYNLT.
Unlink, disconnect and data deletion
Unlink your own account in VYNLT → Settings → Integrations → Slack. An admin can disconnect the workspace there, or remove the app in Slack. Either way the Slack access token is deleted immediately, channels stop updating and account links end. VYNLT keeps no Slack message text; the remaining Slack ids are deleted within 30 days. Comments made from Slack stay in VYNLT as ordinary comments. See the privacy policy.
