Trim, fade, pitch or speed a version
Make an edited copy of a version, such as a shorter edit, a fade, a key change or a tempo change, without touching the original.
Available on Artist · Producer · Studio · Label
This guide is for artists and producers who need a quick edit without opening the DAW. Every edit renders a new lossless version. The version you started from is never changed.
What you can change
- Start and End (as m:ss) to trim.
- Fade in (s) and Fade out (s).
- Pitch: up or down by up to 12 semitones. The tempo stays the same.
- Speed: from 50% to 200%. The pitch stays the same.
Make an edited copy
- Open the song and choose the Versions tab.
- Open the version's options (⋯) and choose Trim, fade, pitch or speed….
- Set what you need in the Edit a copy of … window.
- Choose Render new version.
What you'll see
- The new version appears in the list once it has rendered, with a link back to the version it came from.
- It doesn't become CURRENT by itself. Use Set as current if you want it to.
Common problems
- "Use m:ss for start and end, with the end after the start." Check the times, for example 0:30 and 2:45.
- The option isn't there. You need permission to upload to the song. Ask a manager.
