Share chosen versions on a fan page
Publish demos, voice memos or alternate versions to a free fan page, choose listening only or downloads, and pause or end it any time.
Available on Artist · Producer · Studio · Label
This guide is for artists and labels who want to give fans something special: a demo, an early version or an alternate take. A fan release is a page with versions you choose. Everything else in the project stays private.
Before you start
Fan releases are off until your organization turns them on. An admin opens Settings → Organizations, picks the organization, and turns them on in Sharing & downloads.
Make a fan release
- Open the project, choose More (⋯) and Fan releases….
- Choose New fan release and give it a Title.
- Choose Versions… and pick the exact versions, in order.
- Under How fans get it, choose Anyone with the link or Claim with email.
- Choose what fans get: Listening only, Compressed files (AAC) or Original files (lossless). With downloads, you can set Downloads per fan, per track and tick Watermark each fan's download so a leak check names the fan.
- Write What fans read, and set when it Goes live and, if you like, when it Ends (optional).
- Choose Preview to check it, then Publish. Use Schedule… to publish later.
Publishing freezes those exact files, in that order. Saving changes moves the release back to draft.
Paid fan releases are not available yet. Every fan release is free.
What you'll see
- Copy link gives you the fan page link to post anywhere.
- Analytics shows plays by track, claims and downloads. Addresses are partly hidden: fans gave them to claim this release, not to join a mailing list.
- Unpublish takes the page down. Archive keeps it out of your list.
Common problems
- "Fan releases are off for your organization." Ask an admin to turn them on (see above).
- I changed a version but the page didn't update. A published release keeps its frozen files. Edit it (which moves it back to draft), choose the new version and publish again.
