Demo inbox for A&R

This guide is for A&R teams at labels. Artists send demos through a submission link you publish, and they land in Demo inbox. Artists don't need a VYNLT account to submit.

Make a submission link

1. Open Demo inbox and go to Submission links.
2. Choose New submission link.
3. Write What to send (shown on the form). If you like, set a Closing date (optional) and Close after this many (optional), and tick Accept audio files (up to 50 MB), not only links.
4. Choose Create link, then Copy and post the link where artists will see it.

Review demos

1. Open Inbox. Filter by status, tag or Assigned to me, and sort by Newest, Oldest or Highest rated.
2. Choose a demo to listen.
3. Rate it, add Tags, choose who it's Assigned to, and move it through New, Listening, Shortlisted, Passed or Signed.
4. Write Internal notes. Only your team sees them, never the artist.
5. To answer the artist, write a reply (or start from one of your Reply templates) and choose Send reply.

Settings

Under Demo settings:

• Where replies go: the email address artists' answers go to.
• How long demos are kept: demos are deleted that many days after they arrive, audio included, unless they're shortlisted or signed. Artists are told this on the form.
• Add a template for replies you send often.

Common problems

• "The file is waiting for its security scan." Uploaded files are checked first. Wait a few minutes.
• "No demo inbox here". The demo inbox is part of the Label plan, and you need the right role.
• Delete demo removes it for good. You can't undo it.
