Listen together in a Listening Room
Everyone hears the same version at the same moment. The host controls playback, and chat notes can become comments.
Available on Listener · Artist · Producer · Studio · Label
This guide is for anyone reviewing a song together while apart. In a Listening Room, the host plays, pauses, seeks and switches versions for everyone. Everyone else follows along.
Open a room
- Open the song and choose Listen together.
- You are the host. Anyone on the project can join from the song page while the room is open.
Invite people from outside the project
- In the room, choose Invite guests.
- Type their email addresses. Tick Watermark each guest's stream if you want each guest to hear a marked copy (this depends on your plan).
- Choose Send invites.
Guests sign in with the invited address, or create a free account. They only hear what the room plays, can't download, and lose access when the room ends.
During the session
- Type in Chat to talk. Tick Send as comment to save a note as a timestamped comment on the version.
- Hand over gives playback control to someone else. Step down gives it back.
- A/B with… switches the room between two versions.
End the room
Choose End room. Everyone stops hearing it, guest links stop working, and you get a RECAP of who listened and the notes made. Rooms nobody uses close by themselves after a while.
Common problems
- A guest can't get in. They must sign in with the exact address you invited. Their link also expires within 24 hours.
- Playback drifts. Ask everyone to stay on the page. Background tabs on phones may pause.
- Invite guests is missing. You need permission to share the song.
